About the Founder | Rene Chana
Rene Chana is a multidisciplinary artist, architect and urban designer born in Nairobi, Kenya and now based in Birmingham, United Kingdom. He is the founder of Artitect Sanctuary, a creative space dedicated to the integration of art, architecture and emotional wellbeing. Through painting, sculpture, digital art and photography, Rene explores how our built environments reflect our inner lives and how creativity can support healing, mindfulness and transformation.
Working with reclaimed materials and intuitive processes, Rene’s practice invites reflection, connection and presence. His vision for Artitect Sanctuary is to offer a place where creativity becomes a source of renewal and where art and architecture meet to inspire deeper awareness and soulful living.
A Message from Rene
For me, art, architecture, urban design and life itself are part of a deeper journey. They are not separate disciplines but expressions of the same longing for meaning, for belonging, for truth. Over the years I have worked across cities and cultures, designing spaces that serve people and place. But I have also followed a more personal path, shaped by spiritual exploration, quiet wondering and lived experience.
The Artitect Sanctuary is my response to that path. It is a space where creativity becomes a way of listening, of healing and of reconnecting with what matters. Here, art and architecture meet not to impress but to express. Through painting, storytelling and design, I hope to offer something that resonates. Something that invites you to reflect, feel and imagine new ways of living. This sanctuary is not just mine. It is yours too. A place to explore, to express, to grow and to create with care from the heart.
Welcome home.
