ABOUT THE ARTITECT SANCTUARY
Artitect Sanctuary is a creative platform founded by architect and artist Rene Chana, bringing together art, architecture and imagination to shape a more creative, sustainable and human future.
Our work is built around three connected worlds:
Green Cities + Architecture, an urban design and architecture practice focused on creating sustainable, climate-responsive buildings, neighbourhoods and cities.
Artitect Studio, is a creative practice, artwork, jewellery, books and objects making studio.
Share Create, a charitable organisation using creativity, art and design to support communities, education and opportunity.
Artitect Sanctuary explores the space between creativity and the built environment, combining artistic thinking, architectural design and environmental intelligence to imagine and create meaningful places, ideas and experiences.
WHAT IS AN ARTITECT?
An Artitect is someone who exists between art and architecture. One who creates and designs at he same time.
It describes a way of thinking and creating that does not see the two disciplines as separate. An Artitect uses the imagination, experimentation and expression of an artist together with the knowledge, discipline and purpose of an architect.
An Artitect imagines, creates and designs across the boundaries of art and architecture.
For Artitect Sanctuary, an Artitect is more than simply an architect who makes art. It represents a creative philosophy. Seeing buildings, cities, objects, landscapes and ideas as opportunities for artistic expression, while using design to create meaningful experiences for people and the planet.
